EVE 3.2V 90Ah

Lithium-ion battery VS Lead-acid battery

Here are differences between lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries. You can choose between them based on their advantages and disadvantages.

*Lithium-ion batteries are more expensive than lead-acid batteries. With same capacity, the price of a lithium-ion battery is about 2 to 3 times that of a lead-acid battery.

*The Chinese government supports the development of lithium-ion batteries and has begun to gradually restrict lead-acid batteries.

*Lithium-ion batteries have a longer cycle life than lead-acid batteries. Take the user to fully charge once every 3 days as an example. If you use a lead-acid battery, it can be used for about 3 years. If you use a lithium-ion battery, it can be used for about 4 to 5 years.

*Lithium-ion batteries don’t have battery memory effect, lead-acid batteries have. If the battery is not fully charged and discharged for a long time, the capacity of the lead-acid battery will decrease.

*lead-acid battery cell’s standard voltage is 2.0V, charging cut-off voltage is 2.4V, discharge cut-off voltage is 1.5V.

About Lithium-ion battery, for example, EVE LFP 3.2V 90Ah battery cell’s standard voltage is 3.2V, charging cut-off voltage is 3.65V, discharge cut-off voltage is 2.5V.

*Lithium-ion batteries have a higher energy density than lead-acid batteries. In the case of the same capacity, lead-acid batteries are heavier than lithium-ion batteries.

*Lithium-ion batteries have short charging times and fast charging speeds.

*Lithium-ion batteries are more environmentally friendly and less polluting, and lead-acid batteries contain lead and sulfuric acid.

*Lead-acid batteries are safer and less prone to spontaneous combustion.

*Battery performance degrades at low temperatures, but lithium-ion batteries outperform lead-acid batteries.

*If you need to replace the battery, due to the small size and light weight of the lithium-ion battery, it is more convenient to replace the battery and save time.

*Lead-acid batteries have a high self-discharge rate. The self-discharge of lithium battery is less than 3% per month, while lead-acid battery can reach 15 to 30%.
